News on Smart Meters from Del. Glass

Yesterday the Maryland Public Service Commission convened to hear testimony from BG&E, PEPCO, and Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative Inc. regarding recent news of Smart Meters overheating and causing fires in Pennsylvania. I attended this public hearing but was denied an opportunity to speak for several minutes along with another former Delegate and other concerned citizens.…

Plan to Disarm the US from 1961

Please Read the US State Dept. memo from 1961, a plan to disarm the US and subject us to a UN international force.  What's most scary/sad about this is that this agenda has been furthered by globalists in both political parties.  This is not about R or D; we need Americans to stand up and defend the sovereignty of our nation!…

Power, Freedom, and the 4th of July

By Jim Rutledge | July 1, 2012

Lamentation and celebration, cries of joy and pain ring through America at the vote of one man, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, upholding what is possibly the most expansive exercise of federal power of our generation. Commonly known as Obamacare, or now…

Commissioners to put county land under federal control at a cost of 1.5 million?

As the saying goes, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."  Right now, I believe that is the road we are on, and I hope that each member of our board of commissioners will look deeply within his/her conscience to determine what he/she believes the role of gov't vs. the private sector is, as well as what it means to be fiscally responsible.…

The Candidates' Records - The Whys Behind the Opposition to Certain Candidates

Beware of false, robocalls/mailers paid for by "Friends of EJ Pipkin"; you will hear the campaign acknowledged at the end of the call or on the fine print at the bottom of the mailer. Doesn't it make you wonder why a state senator is using his own campaign committee finances to attack other Republicans at the local level who are not his own hand-picked candidates? The attacks against Tari Moore and Robert Hodge…

Commissioner Mike Dunn denies wages garnished due to unpaid debt; Cecil Times report shows opposite

At an intermission during our CCP general election debate in November 2010, candidate for commissioner Michael Dunn was asked about the reports that had been circulating that he had his wages garnished due to unpaid debt.  This was troubling to many who had heard the stories, considering Mr. Dunn ran on a "fiscally conservative" platform.  In this audio, Mr. Dunn clearly states that the stories that his wages had been garnished due to unpaid debt were "completely untrue." Listen to the…

Freedom Works VS. the TEA Party in Pennsylvania - School Choice vs. entitlement legislation

There has been ongoing division between Freedom Works and the TEA party in Pennsylvania over school choice.  TEA parties opposed SB1, PA's income-based school choice bill, while Freedom Works supported it.

Matt Kibbe of Freedom Works called conservative legislators who opposed SB 1, their "school choice" bill, "bedwetters".  The only TEA party organization to push for the bill was the "Kitchen Table Patriots" led by Anna Puig and Anastasia Przybylski, who were paid by Freedom…

Radical environmentalism- Sustainable Development is the new Marxism

A couple of years ago, it was reported that the Czech president called environmentalism the new communism.  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SJsA7NLAaM . While I understood the sentiment of his statement, until very recently when I began to study this issue in light of "sustainable development" legislation, I didn't fully realize the implications or the full truth behind his statements.

Misinformation on the Fair Tax and the Flat Tax

The recent campaign to misinform voters about the fair tax or the flat tax has been unfortunate. The fair and flat tax are two very different things. Both are aimed at simplifying our tax system, eliminating loopholes, and making it fairer. Across the country, liberal candidates have been attempting to use misinformation to smear their conservative opponents, even though in most cases conservative…
